Barbara Jean Flanigan, 73, passed away peacefully April 2, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born August 6, 1941 in Doon, Iowa to her parents Joe and Jeanette Berghorst. Raised in Beaver Creek, Minnesota Barbara was voted Homecoming Queen in 1958. She graduated from Beaver Creek High School in 1959, and went on the college where she obtained certification from a business college in Minneapolis. Barbara met and married the love of her life on April 25, 1964. While her husband was serving in the United States Navy, Barbara worked as a Personnel Management Specialist for Civil Service in Lemoore,& San Diego California , where she was awarded the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal three times. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was dedicated and devoted to her family. Active in her community, Barbara served as a Deacon in her church, served on the board for the Lemoore Bobby-Socks (a local softball team), and was involved in youth soccer. She enjoyed traveling to exciting places; her favorites were trips to Ireland, Florida, and the Netherlands. She was also a passionate sports fan who loved supporting her Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins, and the Netherlands National Soccer Team. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and 4 of her siblings. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry; children: Kelli Jo (Ryan) and Patrick (Tami); eight grandchildren: Liam, Grace, Emily, Jacob, Amy, Ashley (Clark), Hayden, and Dillon; one great-grandchild, Tristan; and four siblings: Ruth, Thelma, Kathy, and Ted.
