Anthony Darryl Terry, 69, of Las Vegas passed away August 6, 2016. He was born on June 24, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to Dr. Charles and Ruby Terry, grew up in Long Beach, CA and was a 39-year resident of Las Vegas. An outstanding athlete, he was a 3-year letterman defensive tackle at the University of Southern California and a member of the famed “Wild Bunch”. He started in three Rose Bowls and won the 1967 National Championship, then played professionally with the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams. Tony worked as a juvenile probation officer in Clark County and was a dedicated volunteer youth coach in basketball, football, soccer and softball at Bishop Gorman and St. Francis de Sales schools and Doolittle and Potacsky gyms. A man of great faith, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Tony is survived by his wife of 50 years, Emma; sons Tony (Erica), Darryl (Christina) and Manuel (Lisa); grandchildren Nia, Xavier, Laila, Carlos, Christian, Caden, Antonio and Maya and siblings Cynthia, Janet, Michael, Gregory and Sandra. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Charles. With his larger than life, outgoing personality, Tony embodied the Spirit of Troy (Fight On!) and modeled a determination to never give up. He will be greatly missed.
