Ann, the youngest of four children, was born on May 12, 1932, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She lost her brother, Joe, at the age of twelve to rheumatic fever, and her brother, Tom, at the Battle of the Bulge in WWII. Ann and her sister, Clare, remained close throughout their lives.
On August 31, 1957, she married Hubert J. O’Hara. Hugh became an FBI Special Agent which gave them the opportunity to live in many places, including Tucson, Arizona, where they adopted their only child, Ellen Mary O’Hara in 1965. After they adopted Ellen, Hugh was transferred to Puerto Rico, and then Florida. In 1970, they moved to Las Vegas where they have lived ever since.
Hugh and Ann were big supporters of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and School, Bishop Gorman High School, the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels Basketball Team, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Ann worked at the Nevada State Contractors Board from 1980-1998 and was looking forward to traveling with Hugh in her retirement. Unfortunately, Hugh died of cancer on August 5, 1999.
Ann loved her grandchildren, Stephanie and Scotty, with her whole heart. When Ellen married Ozzie in 2010, and their two families blended, Ann welcomed her new family members with love and open arms.
Ann was highly intelligent and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, and meeting friends for lunch and dinner.
On December 24th, 2021, Ann moved in with Ellen and Ozzie to spend more time together. A year later, Ann died peacefully with her family by her side.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Ellen (spouse Ozzie); two grandchildren, Stephanie and Scotty; three step-grandchildren, Genevieve (spouse Fredda), Veronica, Gabriella (spouse David); four step-great grandchildren, Aiden, Addyson, Gwendolyn, and Hayden; and three nephews and their families, Tom, Joe, and Rick.
Funeral services will be held privately.
