Mr. Andrew Huey Millsap was born August 17, 1940 to his late mother Anna Marie Tisdale and late father Jacob Miles Millsap. He was one of eight children. Andrew became a Christian at a very early age. He joined and attended St. Andrew A.M.E. Church under the pastorage of his grandfather, the late Reverend George Tisdale. He later became the Secretary of the Sunday School. He was raised in a Christian family. Andrew attended and graduated from Gardner High School, located in Strong, Arkansas, in the Class of 1960. Andrew served as a Business Manager for his class. He was very active in sports. After trying his hand at football, he did become a successful basketball player in his youth. After gradutating high school, Andrew traveled the country with a traveling construction crew. Wherever there was a train derailment, they were there. After many years of traveling, Andrew came to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1966. Andrew was gainfully employeed at the TallyHo Hotel, which later became known as the Aladdin Hotel and Casino. While there, he held many positions; starting as a dishwasher, then a runner for the cooks, became a cook’s helper and later a cook. He not only cooked for patrons visiting the hotel, he also had the opportunity to cook for celebrities such as Elvis Presley. He prepared breakfast for him and cooked for his wedding when he married Priscilla. Andrew remained in that position until 1978. In 1978, he had an opportunity to go into the field of engineering. He went to school for four years, where he learned A/C, heating, boilers and water treatment. He continued working there for 32 years until the Aladin was emploded on April 28, 1998. Andrew didn’t stop there. He pursued and received employment at the Barbary Coast in engineering. He worked there until he retired on January 1, 2003. Andrew met Yvonne L. Henderson in 1971. They dated and later married on January 19, 1976. In this union, there was born two children, DeLisa L. Millsap and Andrea E. Millsap. Andrew and Yvonne were not only husband and wife, but best friends and soul mates for 43 years. Andrew was a lovely person, a great friend and very dedicated to his family. Andrew is preceded in death by his parents, Anna Tisdale and Jacob Millsap, five brothers and one sister. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Yvonne L. Millsap, daughters, Kathy Robinette (Kansas City, MO), DeLisa L. Millsap (Las Vegas, NV), Andrea E. Millsap (Lannie - Las Vegas, NV), son, Andrew Millsap, Jr. (Las Vegas, NV), Ashton G. Berry - grandson (son - Las Vegas, NV), eight grand children, three great-grand children, brother, Henry Millsap (Christine - Las Vegas, NV); best friends, Nick & Linda Lucas, Al Valariano, Charles Feazell, LeRoy Jones, Frank Peterson and Trammell Henson; his favorite lawyer, Mrs. Irma McKinney-Sanders, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
