It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Alicia Marie Groeblinghoff at the youthful age of 46 on January 8, 2023. While the passing was sudden (yet peaceful) at the end she was surrounded by family and friends. The loss much too soon.
Alicia was born on January 25, 1976, in Pomona, California to Joanie Ference and Wayne Vaszil. She was fortunate to have two other loving parents in her life, Louis Ference and Patti Vaszil. Together they raised a beautiful soul and created a beautiful human being with the biggest smile and beautiful brown eyes that touched every person in her life.
She is survived by her loving husband Nick and two beautiful children Adam and Nicole Groeblinghoff…and their new rescue dog Olaf.
Alicia leaves behind her siblings Joseph Ference, Louis Ference, Dave Provost, Jonathan Provost, Amy Saatdjian and Amanda Thomas along with their respective spouses (Denise Ribo, Liza Ference, Stephanie Provost, Vatche Saatdjian and Randall Thomas). All looked up to their “big sister Leesh” – she never let them forget she was the “BIG” sister! They enjoyed family times together and made fun memories – happy memories shared by all and never forgotten.
She also leaves behind so many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, loving in-laws, co-workers and so many friends. She touched many and will always be remembered with that beautiful smile and giving heart.
Alicia was born in California but grew up in Las Vegas Nevada, a graduate of Western High School and proud graduate of UNLV. Her degree was in Recreation and Leisure Studies. This degree fit her perfectly as she went through her life. She became the COO of Morgan Specialties along with her longtime friend and business partner Michele Morgan.
Alicia excelled in softball and played for many years. She even met her future husband Nick playing softball and told her sister Amy that she met someone and said to her “what really made me fall in love with him was that he is really good at playing softball,” and with that they fell in love and soon married. They were married on September 18, 2004, and it was one of the happiest days of their life together. Soon they were blessed with their first child, Adam. He was perfect in every way and made family, especially grandparents, the happiest ever. A few years later, Nicole Marie arrived, their beautiful daughter. Their close family unit was established, and it was good. Alicia and Nick were blessed by the children they created.
Alicia’s accomplishments in life are many. Alicia had an exceedingly strong work ethic. We are sure wherever she is now she is making sure things are in order and done to perfection! She would not have it any other way. If things were not to her perfection, you knew about it and got that “look” from her eyes and that sneer.
She was notorious for reading her gossip magazines, and oh so quick to mention what popular star passed away, or any gossip about a well-known person. She read those gossip magazines from front to back. It was her relaxation away from the real world.
Alicia will be missed by all and will always have a warm place in our hearts. One day our hearts will heal, and again, she would not have it any other way.
Alicia, we all love you to the moon and back.
There will be a Celebration of Life on April 22, 2023, located at Floyd Lamb Park (Picnic Area 5) from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Entrance is at no charge when you mention Alicia’s Celebration.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmnorthwest.com for the Groeblinghoff family.
