William Robert Alexander Courtney

William ‘Roy’ Courtney was born in Portadown, County Armagh, Northern Ireland on July 6, 1928. He worked as an architect, builder, developer and entrepreneur in Ireland until the 1980’s when he and his family moved to Florida. He built homes on Indian Rocks and Belleair Beaches, was a partner in Medico, and in 1996 while in a partnership in Florida Mini Storage started Portable On Demand Storage (PODS) which became an international storage and moving success. He has been an active member of Belleair Country Club and the Church of the Isles since 1984. He is survived by his wife Valerie, daughter Heather (Brooklyn, NY), cousin Margaret Keevan (Onstead, MI), many cousins in Northern Ireland and Canada and a multitude of friends across the globe. He will be sorely missed.

A memorial service will be held at Church of the Isles - 200 24th Ave Indian Rocks Beach at 4pm on Sunday June 26th.
