Vincent Lee Shue, a successful Chinese-Jamaican entrepreneur who founded the popular Palace of the Orient restaurant in Seminole, Florida, died peacefully on October 19, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. He was 91.
Vincent was born in 1930, in Jamaica, West Indies, and was raised in China from the ages of two to 17. As a teenager, he returned to Jamaica to fulfill his dream of becoming a businessman and restaurateur. First, he worked several jobs in the food industry, then Vincent launched his first successful business venture, Wonder Bakery, in Kingston, Jamaica. He immigrated to New York City in 1961, where his success followed him.
Vincent is preceded in death by Norma Lee Shue (nee Chin) and brothers,Ivan Lee Shue, Lewis Lee Shue, and Wong Lee.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice, his four children, Natalie (Lenny), Vicki (Arnie), Richard (Jane), and Vincent, Jr., and his grandchildren Stephen (Stephanie), Melissa (Jarod), Kathleen (Mark Gray), Michael, and Mark.
