Thomas E. Blandford, Jr., 89, of Clearwater, FL, (formerly of Penn Hills, PA) passed away on October 7, 2024, peacefully surrounded by his family. Tom was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on November 2, 1934.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas E. Blandford, Sr. and Mary Powell Blandford; his sister, Joan Stitt and her husband, Dr. William Stitt, Sr. and his granddaughter, Lindsay McGuire Wallace.
Tom is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (McMaster) of 67 years (passing on the 68th anniversary of their engagement), his five children and spouses, Thomas & Patricia Blandford, III, Barbara & Dale McGuire, Nancy & Eugene Kulaga, Patricia & Joseph DiDomenico, and Tracy & Samuel Bailey; his twelve grandchildren and spouses, the Late Lindsay & Pat Wallace, Heather & John Hurst, Gregory Kulaga, Jamie & Jeramiah Brown, Julie Kulaga, Michael & Marina Blandford, Patrick Bailey, Alexis & Andrew Ahearn, Kristy McGuire, Timothy & Carina Bailey, Joseph DiDomenico, and Brenda Kulaga; his nine great grandchildren, Tiernen Eutsey, Tristan Eutsey, Olivia Lawton, Mason Brown, Margaret Hurst, Adelaide Hurst, Rowan Brown, Tomasz Kulaga and Evelyn Blandford; many nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.
Tom attended Mt. Lebanon High School class of 1952 and received his BS of Mining Engineering from Penn State. He was a fraternity brother at πKA. He worked at many coal mines before joining Hillman Coal & Coke Company in 1970. He later formed his own mineral leasing companies in 1984.
Tom was an active member of Trinity Tower United Methodist Church in Penn Hills, PA and Anona United Methodist Church in Largo, FL after retiring to their vacation home in Clearwater. Tom was a member of Masonic Lodge 546, Scottish Rite, and Shriners.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 20th, 2024 at 4:00pm at Anona United Methodist Church Chapel, 13233 Indian Rocks Rd, Largo, FL 33774.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Tom to Anona United Methodist Church.
