He was an amazing, loving, caring, hard-working man who raised nine children: five boys and four girls. Our father worked on the railroad for Conrail for 43 years. He was a member of the Shriners and Masonic order and was active in his local church just to mention a few. Our father loved walks in the parks, reading the Bible, listening to Christian music, eating cookies, and spiced gumdrops, and eating ice cream. Vanilla Bean to be exact. He loved being around his family and grandkids, of whom he has 19 grandkids and 15 great-grandkids.
Raymond O. Moore, Sr. was born in Philadelphia, PA January 2, 1935, to William Leslie Moore, Sr and Evelyn Mae Moore (Williams). He graduated from West Philly High School and went on to have a 43-year career with Conrail as a locomotive engineer, leaving behind many stories of his experiences. Raymond accounted to us one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen on a clear and starry night, the sight of glistening snow and icicles hanging from the trees as he steered the locomotive to its destination. It was a peaceful memory for him
Raymond moved to Seminole FL and then on to Clearwater, FL where God joined him in marriage to Lottie P. Hand. Raymond Moore and Lottie H. Moore had 17 cherished years of a blessed marriage before he passed. Their life in Clearwater was full of many happy days. Raymond enjoyed the simple things that life gave him, like looking out at the Gulf and watching the sun go down or going to North Carolina and surrounding himself with the fresh air and beautiful mountains, with Lottie always at his side. Raymond and Lottie had many precious times together, always affirming with one another their great love for Jesus, knowing that to be in fellowship with God was the most important thing.
God chose to take Raymond to be with Him on December 13th, 2022. By the way of the cross, the promise of eternal life insured that Raymond has attained that goal and had reached his destination to Heaven and is now walking the streets of gold with a perfect body in Jesus Christ.
Raymond and Lottie reverently worshipped the Lord, loved the scriptures and would read them to each other daily. “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me” John 14:6. This scripture echoed within their hearts constantly. May God rest Raymond’s soul, as he is secure with Jesus. We know that “All is Well” Love you eternally dear Raymond. Your devoted wife Lottie.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Lottie H. Moore, one brother, Paul Moore, children Raymond Moore (Josie), Diana Moore (Joseph), Patricia Schubert (Mark), Tracy Farrell (Kenneth), David Moore, Debbie Morroney (Larry), and Wayne Moore (Amy). Also added to his life later with Lottie are 6 step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
