It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Benner Gamble, 84, of Sand Key, FL, beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend. Patricia departed peacefully from this world on August 19, 2023 leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was born in Fairhope, Pennsylvania, to her parents Ada Lillian Walls and John Patrick Murphy. Patricia, affectionately known as "Pat” and “Patty” was a woman of remarkable character and strength.
On July 8, 2017, she joined hands in marriage with John Michael Gamble creating a partnership that exemplified dedication and devotion. Professionally, Pat was a reservations agent for Northwest Airlines, retiring after 27 years of service. Pat had a passion for life that was infectious. She loved golf, tennis, and travel. She achieved three holes in one while playing golf and traveled to Africa, Asia, Australia, South America and Europe in her lifetime. She had an adventurous spirit and vibrant personality.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Pat will remember her as happy, strong-willed, and welcoming. She loved to entertain her friends and family. She possessed a rare ability to connect with anyone she encountered, turning strangers into friends with her warmth and genuine kindness. Pat's smile was her trademark.
Patricia is survived by a loving family as well as close friends who will continue to honor her memory. She leaves behind her husband, John Gamble; children, Alice Lynn Schmick and Ronald Thomas Benner; beloved grandchildren, Kathryn Schmick, and Elizabeth Schmick, her son-in-law David Schmick, her daughter-in-law Melinda Benner, her cherished sisters, BJ Cook and Linda Snier, her wonderful cousin Linda Gambatista, her treasured friends Susan and Bill Wahl and her dedicated caregiver Danielle Cattani as well as other extended family and friends. Pat's presence in their lives will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light.
In remembrance of Patricia Benner Gamble, a memorial mass will be held at 1:30pm Friday September,15th 2023 at the chapel of St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10895 Hamlin Blvd, Largo, FL 33774. She will be laid to rest at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774.
As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the legacy of joy, kindness, and enduring spirit she leaves behind.
