Carol A. Barney

Carol Ann (Willis) Barney of Largo, FL entered into eternal life on May 2, 2012 at the age of 78. Born on October 4, 1933 in Providence, RI, Mrs. Barney was the daughter of Francis S. and Bertha E. (Gilbert) Willis. Following graduation from St. Patrick's High School, Providence, RI in 1951, she was employed by Roger Williams Savings and Loan/Citizen's Bank of Providence until her retirement. She was a member of St. Pius Parish where she served as Eucharistic Minister and participated with several parish activities. Upon her retirement, Carol and her beloved husband Leo relocated of Largo, FL. She has been an active member of St. Patrick's Parish where she serves as a Eucharistic Minister, coordinates the parish prayer line, and participates as a past-officer of the Women's Guild. Surviving Carol, are her husband Leo Barney of Largo, Dorothy Dibble and her husband Orville of Oneida, NY, brother Richard Willis and his wife Jeanne of Fredericksburg, VA, sister-in-law Phyllis Willis of Tariffville, CT, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews that she considered "her children". Carol was predeceased by her sister Sara Kelly and her husband James, her brother Gilbert Willis of Tariffville, CT, and her brother Clifford Willis and his wife Evelyn of Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Suncoast Hospice, 11701 Belcher Rd S #128, Largo, FL 33773. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Moss Feaster Funeral Home Serenity Gardens Chapel in Largo. Visitation hours are scheduled for Monday May 7th 2012 from 2 to 5 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 8, 2012 at 10am in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Largo FL..
