Allanson, Carol Ann (Anley) 67 of Madeira Beach, Florida passed away on Friday, March 9 at home. Born in Croydon, England, Carol’s family relocated to Brampton, Ontario in 1953. She moved to St. Louis, Missouri after marrying her husband, Welford (Wil). She worked as a Certified Compensation Specialist for McDonnell Douglas for nearly 30 years. As a member of Elk Lodge 2316, Florissant, Missouri, she organized weekly bingo for charity. In1998 she and Wil and retired to Madeira Beach. She enjoyed golf, sailing, bridge and community service. One of her proudest achievements was her work with the Angel Stitchers at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Seminole. Carol hosted bridge at The Club at Treasure Island where she had many close friends. Carol took an active role in many social activities at the Madeira Beach Yacht Club Condominiums. In addition to Wil, her husband of 41 years , Carol is survived by sister Jan McTaggart (Wayne) of Caledon East, Ontario, stepdaughters Cathie Allanson (Tom Finegan) of Franklin, TN and Ann Allanson (Charles Leduc) of Chicago, and stepson Rich Allanson, of Commerce, MI, nephew Kurt McTaggart, niece Lisa Cation, grandchildren Alissa and Connor Finegan and Erin Allanson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Angel Stitchers at Aldersgate United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Carol’s Life will be held at The Club at Treasure Island, 400 Treasure Island Causeway, Treasure Island on Thursday, March 15 from 4 - 7 PM.
