Bill Henry, aged 77; May 25, 1946 - January 21, 2024. Bill was born in Philadelphia to William R. Henry and Eleanor May Jann, and was a proud Army Brat, living in several places worldwide including Sacramento, McLean, and Heidelberg, Germany. He graduated from Heidelberg American High School and then obtained a Bachelor’s of History Education from Temple University, going on to practice historic archaeology in Philadelphia and Colonial Williamsburg. He developed an interest in historic architecture and then obtained a Master of Historic Preservation from Eastern Michigan University. He practiced both professions at John Milner Associates in Philadelphia, as well as with other consulting firms. He served his country for twenty years as a Historic Preservation Specialist and Manager for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, deploying to many hurricanes, tornados, and other disasters nation-wide. He enjoyed traveling, surfing, skiing, and being at Lake Michigan. His greatest enjoyment was watching Formula One racing, for which he was a corner worker and pit marshal. He was proud of his Porsches and was proud of winning Best in Class at the 2022 RE Olds Car Capital Auto Show. He was predeceased by his mother Eleanor, half-brother Bruce, step-mother Doris, father Col. William R. Henry, and sister Joanne Meroney. His wife Irene Jackson Henry, many cousins, and many friends will miss his humor, kindness, and wisdom. Per Bill’s preference, there will be no services or funeral.
