On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, Steven Karl Meuché, loving husband, father of two and grandfather of four, passed away at the age of 74. Steve was born on May 5, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio to Rosemary and Karl Meuché. He received both a B.A. and M.A. in telecommunications from Michigan State University. He spent his career, beginning in 1965, at MSU, where he eventually became the general manager of WKAR radio stations and director of Broadcasting Services. He was a member of the board of directors of National Public Radio and the president of the Michigan Association of Public Broadcasters among other distinguished positions in radio and television communications.
Steve loved to garden. He grew beautiful flowers, delicious vegetables and had an exceptionally well-kempt yard. As an MSU alum, he was an avid basketball fan, season ticket holder, and never missed a game if he could help it. He loved to travel with his wife; they went everywhere from New Orleans to Costa Rice to Amsterdam, but his favorite place was Italy where he could get authentic spaghetti and meatballs. He was a great friend to many, always supportive and kind, the type of guy who would do anything he could to help.
Steve is survived by his wife Susan Meuché, his two sons Matthew (Grace) and Patrick (Natalie) Meuché, his brother Robert (Kim) Meuché, his grandchildren Alexis (fiancé Nicholas Goodman), Payton, Melanie and Abigail Meuché.
There will be no formal service as he was a man who preferred to celebrate life. Memorial donations can be made to the Greater Lansing Food Bank: Garden Project.
