Shirley Anne Ellis was born in South central Michigan and died on September 25, 2023 after a gallant three-year effort fighting cancer. She graduated from the Michigan School for the Blind in the early 60's and managed many vending facilities and cafeterias in County and State Buildings in Lansing Michigan
Shirley’s Post, Shirley’s Food Cort and the Oasis were among the business names she used. She was a great cook and food preparer, both for business and home and she fed many people.
She loved to play card games, both in person and on the computer. If she saw a garage or yard sale sign, she had to stop to get that good buy! She made over 500 hats for children and adults and gave them away for Halloween. She loved the mountains of Arizona and the woods of Michigan. She knew the Lord as savior and is now home with Him and her many friends and family. She always wanted to see totally and now she does.
She is survived by her mother, Joan Brunger; her husband, Michael E. Ellis; her children: Douglas Chingo, Andrew Ellis, Wenonah Ackerman, Aaron Ellis, Adam Ellis and her MSB Family and many Facebook friends. She was preceded in death by Francis Johnson.
A memorial service will be held on October 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Lansing First Church of the Nazarene
(310 Elmwood Rd., Lansing, MI 48917).
