Lansing, MI (formerly of Sugar Island, Michigan)
Ruth “Marion” Morley passed away peacefully January 12, 2011. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, November 2, 1919, to Raymond E. and Ruth L. (Osborn) Baxter. Marion lived a full life as she and Glen built homes in many locations in Michigan and Florida. She fearlessly mastered electrical wiring, drywall finishing, and all forms of arts and crafts creating many priceless treasures. Hunting and fishing in the Great Lakes were a big part of their life as they built a life on Sugar Island in the 50’s and 60’s. Marion bagged more than a few deer, and her share of northern pike.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Glenden Morley; infant daughter, Francis Jean Morley; sister, Joyce Turner; and her parents, Ruth and Ray Baxter. She is survived by her four children; Gerald B. Morley of FL, Janet (Chuck) Bumstead of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Jon (Sharon) Morley of Sugar Island, MI, and Joanne (Bob) Garland of Lansing, MI; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Doris (Ed) Eldridge and Norma Wirick.
