Ruth H. Janetzke, 98, of Lansing, Michigan passed away January 6, 2014. Ruth was born 1915 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Theodore and Alfrieda (Schaller) Franck. Ruth was an accomplished pianist and organist, and was known throughout Lansing. She was also an excellent seamstress, working at the Style Shop in Lansing. Ruth was sought out by prestigious clientele for her talent, expertise, and superior craftsmanship. During her free time, Ruth loved to fish at night and garden during the day. She loved to play with her grandchildren. She is a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church and later became a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church until her passing. Ruth will be missed by all who knew her.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William E. W. Janetzke; brother, Alfred Franck; and daughters, Helen and Lois. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary E. Martin; son, Karl (Christine) Janetzke; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Gertrude Franck.
A Worship Service Remembering Ruth will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing, MI 48906. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Emanuel Lutheran Church at the address listed above.
