Age 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 14, 2010. Bob was born in Durand, MI to Leslie and Grace (Patchel) Andrews. He graduated from Durand High School in 1938. He was in the Army Air Corps in World War II and served 3 years with a B26 Bomb Group in North Africa and Europe. Bob worked for 20 years with his father in a general garage in Durand. He was employed by the State of Michigan, Motor Transport Division for 18 years and retired in 1982. He married Elaine Harden on May 3, 1947. He was a long time member of South Baptist Church. Bob enjoyed reading and traveling the country with his wife in an RV.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Elaine; son, Lee (Janice) Andrews; daughter, Gail (Jack) Hedley; granddaughter, Leslee; grandsons, Robert (Denise), Mark, and John; 3 great-grandchildren, Sam, Kira, Ahna; sister, Joyce (Darwin) Mixer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley (Kenneth) Eavy; infant brother, Wayne; and infant son, Dale.
Memorial Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing with Dr. Don Denyes of South Church officiating.
Private Interment was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon, MI
Contributions may be made South Church or City Rescue Mission in memory of Bob.
