Phyllis Ernestine Willis

Phyllis received her Bachelor’s degree from MSU in Home Economics in 1945. She moved to California with her husband, Tom Willis. After his death, she returned to MSU to complete her Elementary Teaching Degree certification and later her Education Master’s degree. She taught for two years in Charlotte. In 1953, she started teaching 5th & 6th grades at Verlinden Elementary School for 32 years. After retiring in 1985, she enjoyed spending her winters in Florida.

Phyllis was a true Spartan fan. She had season tickets for basketball and football games for 50 years. She was a member of The Peoples Church.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Tom, brother Robert Yeagley, and sisters Barbara Yeagley and Katherine Fox, niece Nann Tyler, and dear friend Mary Lee Johnson.

She will be greatly missed by her niece, Kathleen Banchero and and friends, in particular Rick and Julie Bryce and their children.

Per Phyllis’ request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
