Born in Flint, MI, Paula became passionate about social justice and education from a young age. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State and has remained an avid MSU fan her entire life. She earned her MA in Social Work from Western Michigan University and used that degree to build an impressive work resume, which lead to her working in many capacities including: State of MI Adult and Aging Services, State Quality Management, County Director of Health and Human Services, Family Independence Agency, and Instructor of Social Work and Academic Advisor at Lansing Community College, helping thousands of young adults to develop a real passion for Public Social Services. After retiring from State Government, Paula was elected County Commissioner, and then Supervisor, for Bath Township, a community that she has lived in and loved for many years.
Regardless of being a very hard worker, Paula made time for traveling the world, countless hours of bridge games, and was a proud member of the MSU Alumni Association and Coaches Club. She adored her Bouvier dogs, her family, and her friends. What stands out the most about Paula was how she made countless lifelong friends who became family to her. The world will truly miss her compassion, bright smile, and kind personality.
Please join us in celebrating Paula’s life at the MSU Union Ballroom for a light luncheon on May 8th, 2023, from 11am to 2pm.
