Michael A. Minich, known as Mikey, of Lansing, MI passed away on Monday December 7, 2020 at the age of 78. Mike was born on May 12, 1942, the son of Ernest and Thelma Minich. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Minich. He is survived by his wife, Judy, siblings Marcia Schelter, Marilyn Palmer (Jerry), Chris Ferris (Tim McCoy) and Bill Minich (Beth). Mike is also survived by his in-laws Joanna Smith (Gene), Joyce DePue, June Short, Lovey Lovell, Jeanie Fortman, Kay Lovell and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Mike attended St. Mary’s schools and spent 3 years in the Navy serving onboard the U.S.S. Enterprise aircraft carrier. On April 30, 1967 he married his love, Judy Lovell. Mike worked 36 years as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and worked for years at Capitol Bancorp. He was an active member of the DeWitt Moose 2291, American Legion, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He met many of his good buddies through his love of bowling, golfing, gambling and his love of bad jokes-especially telling them. His warm smile and his love of life will be remembered and missed by all who knew Mikey.
A celebration of his life will be held May 8, 2021 at the DeWitt Moose.
