Linda Ann Walker was born to the late James Linwood and Dorothy Walker on September 29, 1949 in Paterson, NJ. Linda is the loving daughter of Lillie Mae (James) Walker. She is the oldest of five siblings. Linda, while growing up in NJ attended the famous “Eastside High school - “Home of the GHOST”, and was proud to be considered a “GHOST”. After moving to Michigan in 1965, Linda graduated from Eastside High School of Detroit (now known as Martin Luther King Jr. High). Linda furthered her education by attending Detroit Business Institute studying stenography and administrative courses. After graduation, Linda married her first love, Muhammad Qawwee and moved to the Lansing area. To this union 5 children were born (Muhammad II, Tynnetta, Ayasha, Evona, Haniyyah). Linda was a dedicated and supportive wife and mother. Linda confessed Christ at an early age. She was a member of Abundant Grace Faith Church in Lansing MI. She loved to worship and sing God’s praises.
Linda was employed by Michigan State Medical Society for several years, providing administrative support to physicians and medical students. Linda retired due to her health from the State of Michigan - Health and Human Services. On Valentine's Day 1997, Linda married the late David Cole in an intimate and loving ceremony. Linda's and David’s two hearts beat as one. Linda loved David’s daughter Ja’Brianna Mitchell as if she was her own, along with David’s other children from prior relationships. David and Linda enjoyed laughing and traveling while spending time with family, friends and Tea’ka.
Linda departed this life on January 9, 2020. Linda will be missed by so many. Linda leaves to cherish her memory; mothers: Dorothy Fusilier and Lillie Mae Walker; children: Muhammad Qawwee II (Angie), Tynnetta Qawwee, Ayasha Scott, Haniyyah Qawwee (Curtis) all of Lansing, Evona Kelly (Kenny) of Battle Creek, MI ; eleven grandchildren., 2 great-grandchildren; Brother: David McMillan of NY (Carmen), Sisters: Carlean Dobbs, De’Borah Letbetter (Keith) both of MI, Vicky Lynn McCutchin of NJ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends, very special and devoted “Sisters n Love” : Mickie (Jim) Jones, Yolanda Hart. And longtime friend Sheila Hursey. To her personal care givers, Haniyyah and Zakiyyah – “We LOVE YOU and THANK YOU for your loving and dedicated attention to her activities of daily living”.
