Kenneth Ray Bliesener

Kenneth Ray Bliesener was born on August 1, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan, and passed away suddenly on June 9, 2014. Ken worked for Consumer Energy for 40 years, where he met his soul mate, Melody. He was an active member of F.O.E. 1039, St. Gerard Church, and VFW 671. He was greatly loved, admired, and respected by family, friends, and all who knew him.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lola (Wright) Bliesener; brothers, Gary Bliesener and Francis Shepard; and grandson, Garrick Nelson. Surviving to cherish Ken’s memory are his wife of 28 blessed years, Melody; daughters, Jamie Nelson and Teri Bliesener; sons, Kenneth (Yolanda) Bliesener, Jr. and Douglas (Katrina) Bliesener; grandchildren, Kimberly, Doug, Briana, Sara, Amy, and Elena; brother, Carl (Joyce) Bliesener; sisters, Lois King and Phyllis Klotz; numerous (greatly loved) nieces and nephews; former daughter-in-law, Sandy; and his bestest dog, Figi.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 13, 2014 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing, Michigan 48917. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church and on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, Michigan 48912. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Church at the address listed above.
