Jerry Lee Thelen

Lansing, MI

Born March 29, 1951 in Lansing, the son of Gerald and Winifred Thelen, passed away April 18, 2012 at the age of 61. Jerry was a 1969 graduate of Pewamo-Westphalia High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the fuel supply ship Ponchatoula and returned home in 1972. He was employed by General Motors, retiring after 34 years of service. Jerry enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping and gardening as well as road trips to the casino. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Bruce and Russell. Surviving to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 36 years, Alice; daughters, Guadalupe (Gregg) Evans and Alley (DaMel Nixon) Thelen; grandson, Josiah Nixon; brother, David (Judy) Thelen; sisters Denise (David) Cushion, Nancy Jo (Gary) Bissell and Jane (James) Bierstetel; sister-in-law, Maureen Thelen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow St., Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM with the scripture service at 7:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E.
