Howard (Sonny) Taylor

Sonny had many interests and occupations throughout his life. He was a barber, pilot, real estate agent, furniture store owner and a wood worker. He enjoyed spending time in his garage refinishing furniture, especially antiques and working on his many “project” cars. He was always there to help when needed and was sure to tell you the “right” way to do it. He loved his boat and his time fishing on Lake Michigan enjoying the warm sunshine whenever possible.

Sonny will be truly missed by his daughters Tina (Scott) Gleason and Shawn (Mike) Wonn; grandchildren, Marissa Tew, Stevie Martin, Madison Diamond and Bernard Pohl; great grandchildren Kaden, Naomi, Eric, Elouise and Kolter; step grandchildren Brandon, Autumn, Brooke, Emily and Taylor; many step great grandchildren; cousin Judy Bradman; his helpful and caring neighbors on Tressa Drive; and his lifelong friend Gary Davis, who never missed a day of calling him up until the last day of his life.

Sonny is preceded in death by his parents Bennie & Marie Taylor; his sister Doris; his ex-wife Siray Taylor; and his great grandson Krosby Diamond.

The family would like to extend their sincerest thank you and appreciation to the staff members at Heart to Heart Hospice for their kindness and compassion during Sonny’s last days, especially Autumn and Caitlyn.

The family has already celebrated his life together in a private setting, there will be no public service per Sonny’s request.
