Barbara Kathryn Price

Barbara Kathryn Price (Schultz) aged 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 25, 2024. Born on September 5th, 1934 Barb led a fulfilling life marked by devotion to her family and to her career in nursing. Barb achieved her lifelong goal of becoming a registered nurse in her late forties. She was steadfast in her care of patients and their families at Dobie Road long term care facility. She also became a favorite instructor at Lansing Community College after retirement.

Barb married Donald Price on May 4th, 1966 and they shared a loving marriage of 53 years until his passing. Don and Barb raised nine children together. In addition they were dedicated to their church , serving in the choir , hosting Bible studies and attending church gatherings. Their household was always full of love, joy ( and chaos!) and they welcomed every minute of it!

Thoughtful, kind and wise in her advice, Barb was a beautiful soul who was deeply loved by many. Her outward resilience in the face of her recent health challenges shows the depth of her strength and fortitude of character.

In addition to her deep devotion to her family and her career, Barb was an avid reader. She also enjoyed listening to music and having a glass of wine with friends and family.

Barbara is survived by her children: Kathie ( Bryan) Epperson, David (Karen) Vuich, Laurie(William) Shutt, Patti (Russell) Wolff, Anne (Howard)Whitaker, and Mary (Jeff) Johns. In addition she helped raise two stepchildren: Ronald( Pamela) Price and Rodger(Amanda) Price.

Barbara has 24 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her loving siblings: Bonnie (Joe) Vonckx, John (Gale) Schultz and Martha (Gerald) Schwab. In addition, Barb was a favorite Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents: Donald and Muriel Schultz, her husband, Donald Price, her son, Michael Vuich and her grandson Kyle Dane.
