Barbara Maxine “Barb” Davis, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Lansing, Michigan. She was born February 9, 1933 in Lansing to Charles Lester and Florence Madeline (Hogle) Strang. She graduated from Eastern High School.
Barb was known for her love for everyone she knew: she cared deeply for everyone and was always welcoming people into her home for her homemade dinners and baked goods, especially her pies. She was always available to make her special relish trays for any occasion. Barb loved to keep in contact with her family and friends through handwritten cards and letters – for any birthday, anniversary, or special occasion. She loved her family, and enjoyed spending time with them all.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Wayne Davis in 1964, her parents, her siblings, Charles “Chuck” (Genevieve) Strang, Norma “Peg” (“Si”) Conley, Arnold “Arnie” (Ruth) Strang, Robert Strang, Albert “Al” Strang, and Richard Strang, and her sister-in-law, Delores Riggs.
Barb will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Gerald “Jerry” Davis; her children, Sally Marie Davis, Brad Davis, and Tonja (Russ Smith) Davis; her grandchildren, Karen (Shannon) Shaw, Joseph Scott (Serenity) Davis, Jessica (Scott) Whited, Amy Rosa (Kiel) Ridenour-Wilson, Rachel Marie Ridenour, and Ronald D. (Jania) Ridenour III; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joyce Elaine Strang and Margaret Strang; special niece, Dawn (Don) Boutwell; close friend, Joyce Semelka; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sparrow Hospice.
