Mrs. Reynolds was born Feb. 4, 1935 in Martin, TN and stepped into the waiting arms of Jesus in Grand Ledge, MI on January 9, 2016. At age 15, she eloped and married Jerald Duane Reynolds on May 23, 1950. They moved their young family to Michigan on Oct 31, 1956. Settling in Lansing, they connected with a church that eventually became Holmes Road Church of Christ, and worshipped there for over 50 years. She served as a Sunday School teacher and active member of the ladies class in her younger years – a good example for others to follow. Having dropped out of school to marry and raise a family, she went back to school to earn her high school diploma. Proudly wearing her cap and gown during commencement, she officially graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1972. She continued her studies, attending Ross Medical School to become a Medical Transcriptionist. Obviously a determined lady, she fulfilled one of her childhood dreams by learning to play the drums in her fifties! Although she lived most of her life in Michigan, she was a Southerner to the core and demonstrated that Southern hospitality by opening her heart and loving home to anyone that crossed her path. She was compassionate and sacrificially dedicated to her family. Having been an only child, she was extremely proud of being the matriarch of a large family. Retiring in 1993, her integrity, dependability and loyalty were demonstrated in her twenty year career at Sears in the Parts department, where she developed life-long friendships. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jerald Duane Reynolds; son, James Michael Reynolds; granddaughter, April Rae Arnett; great-granddaughter, Sarah Noel Manko; and parents, Wilson “Shy” and Ida Mai (Bizzle) Clark. She is survived and will be sorely missed by daughters Diane (Randy) Rhodes and Pam Reynolds; grand-children Shirley Manko (Leon), Kati Spinner (Scott), Hilary Bethka (James), Whitney Small (Jon), Joshua Morrow (Alaina), Jodi Morrow, Jan Leyrer (Ray); numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins, sister-in-law Sue Reynolds, and special friends Gale and Linda Badgley.
