John was born in Vancouver on January 25th, 1934, where he spent most of his life.
While growing up, John enjoyed many activities like acrobatic, tap dance, public speaking. That gave him opportunities to participate in “Theatre in the Park” a couple of summers in Vancouver’s Stanley Park.
After graduating from Lord Bing high school, John attended UBC where he completed a B. of Education in 1958. He then started teaching mathematics and sciences at New Westminster Secondary school, from where he retired 35 years later.
John married Pierrette (Larrivee) on July 14th, 1973. They had two sons, David (1977) and Patrick (1978). As they were growing up, they enjoyed many trips to Quebec to visit family and John always took much pleasure practicing his French.
A few years after John retired, the family moved to Port Kells then to Langley where he joined the Alliance Church and became involved in programs like Alpha. John committed his life to Jesus and was baptized there.
After a stroke last February, followed by three painful months, John went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus-Christ on May 7th, 2022. His wife, two sons and five grand-children are missing him very much, as well as nephews and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in August at Mountainview Alliance Church in Langley. The time and date will be posted here later.
