Duane was one of a kind, a great brother who valued his family. A fighter who although disabled made the best of what life dealt him. He attended school in Burnaby, New Westminster and Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. He lived at home with his parents until 2019 after which he then moved into his own apartment in Langley, until placement in Langley Hospice Residence on June 6, 2024. His best friends were his brother Mark and sister Donna. But he had two wonderful friends who meant the world to him Perry and Mike. At this time the family would like to thank his doctors, nurses, staff and the volunteers at the Langley Hospice Residence. You made his last month so much better.
He was an avid pop culture collector. Loved Bonnie Tyler’s music and the 1980s music in particular. Watching old shows from his youth. Collecting TV shows from the 70's - 2000's on videos, dvds and blu ray. He loved Dr. Who and it was from that show a quote was chosen. He was always finding things from his childhood and beyond to bring back into his life. The last being Funko Pops of which he had hundreds.
There will be no funeral by his request and he asks that in lieu of flowers a donation to Langley Hospice Residence 22008- 52 nd Ave, Langely B.C https://langleyhospice.ca/langley-hospice-residence/ in his name.
"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't always spoil the good things or make them unimportant."-Dr. Who, 11th Doctor
