On Sunday, February 21, Susan “Susie” Wood Householder, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at age 74. Susie was born on September 30, 1946 in Lancaster, Ohio to Don and Betty (Anne) Wood. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1964 and attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. On August 18, 1973, Susie married Thomas “Tom” Ray Householder. She was a caring and nurturing mother to their son, Chad, and grandmother to their grandchildren, Dylan and Autumn.
Susie retired from The Ohio State University College of Public Health in 2014, where she worked for nearly two decades. Prior to that, she worked for Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Congressman Clarence Miller in Washington, D.C. Susie was an avid sports fan and loved all things Ohio State, especially Ohio State Buckeye football. She was also a founding member of Triumph Register of America.
Susie is survived by her husband, Tom; son, Chad; her brothers, Donald and Michael Wood; grandchildren, Dylan and Autumn; and several nieces and nephews. Susie was preceded in death by her parents. Following cremation, per her request, a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
