Michael Earl Young

Michael Earl Young, 73 of Lancaster, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 26th, 2022 at the Pickering House. Michael was born in Greenfield, Ohio on February 16th, 1949 to the late Clarence and Chloie Young. He was a 1974 graduate of The Ohio State University and an Elder at the Shining Light Community Church in Lancaster. Michael enjoyed gardening, playing golf, and was an avid Ohio sports fan. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Michael’s favorite role in life was being a grandpa to his five grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Young; sons, Jared (Kelsey) Young, of Fairborn, OH and Stephen (Beth) Young of Westerville, OH; grandchildren, Ian, Olivia, and Lynn, of Fairborn; and Chloe and Leah of Westerville; sister, Carolyn (Tom) Hamilton; as well as many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Katherine Clawson, Flora Mae Layman, and Grace Dhume; and nephew, Tommy Herman.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 3rd, 2022 at 10AM at the Shining Light Community Church (1868 E. Main St. Lancaster, OH 43130). Burial is to take place on Monday at 3PM at Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4PM-7PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME, as well as ONE HOUR PRIOR to the services on Monday.
