John William “Bill” Sharp, Jr., age 70 of Bremen, Ohio, passed away on Monday, August 12. He was born in Columbus on September 14, 1942 to the late John William Sharp, Sr. and Louise Josephine (Balling) Sharp. Bill was a 1960 graduate of Central High School. He retired from Columbus and Southern Electric which later became AEP after 30 years. Bill was a former member of Avondale U.M.C., and current member of the Bremen U.M. Church. Bill was involved in the Anglers Paradise Lake Club and member of the Lancaster Moose Lodge #955, receiving his Fellowship Degree.
Bill is survived by: his loving wife of 50 years, Karen Fay (Green) Sharp, children; Kim (Bob) Westhoven and John William III “Bill” (Sherry) Sharp; grandchildren, Jason, Meleia, Ryan, Regan, John William IV, Jacob and Nick; great grandchildren, Zach, Dylan and Daniel, a sister JoAnn (Jim) Hale, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Allen Green, Sharon (Gary) Robertson, Larry (Charlotte) Green and Garry Green; uncle Chet (Dora) Sharp, his furry friends (dogs) Buffy and Bridget, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog Precious. Who he said was “waiting for him on the other side of the bridge.”
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 16, 2013 at 10:30 A.M., at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Chrisman officiating. Friends may call 5-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home where the Lancaster Moose Lodge will conduct memorial services at 7:30 P.M. and calling will be 1 hour prior to funeral service on Friday. Dignity cremation will take place at a later date.
