JoAnn Miller Bader, age 87 of Baltimore, went home to be with our Lord on December 25, 2021, Jesus’ Birthday, after an extended illness. She was born on May 6, 1934 to the late Floyd and Goldie Miller of Lancaster.
She is survived by the “man of her dreams,” Walter Lee Bader with 68 years of marriage. Devoted mother to 3 wonderful sons, Steve (Debbie), Greg (Diane) and Randy (Tammy). She adored all 9 of her grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She sadly leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Randy Jr.; brother Raymond Miller; sister-in-law Marilyn Miller and sister-in-law Jan Miller.
JoAnn graduated from Lancaster High School and always said she received a trophy for being the “Champion Driver,” for her driver’s education class. However, we all knew that her track record over the years proved otherwise. Her sense of humor and laughter was contagious to the point it would pull you into her world. She loved living in the country on the farm where she could see numerous cardinals and sunflowers.
She was an outstanding, enthusiastic grandmother who enjoyed being part of her grandchildren’s video filmmaking skits. JoAnn was a substitute teacher for Liberty Union Thurston High School as well. She was a faithful member of Emanuel Lutheran Church where she dedicated her time to teach others about our Lord and Savior through Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, Evangelism and countless other committees within the church. She was an unpublished author of a book called “Love and God Bless.”Her love and devotion to Christ was admired by all.
JoAnn touched many lives through her endless love and generosity. She will be immeasurably missed.
