Dr. James E. Key, 80, of Lancaster passed away peacefully on Friday, March 2nd, 2018 at the Fairfield Medical Center. He was born in Dothan, Alabama on June 17th, 1937 to the late Clarence and Mamie Lou Key.
He enjoyed spending time with his children, and is survived by; Vangie (Paul) Alford, Kim (Jason) Clark and Lori (Brian) Lawson; the joy of his life was his seven grandchildren, Joel (Karen) Clark, Derek (Gabrielle) Clark, Julia Clark, Kelly Alford, Tim Alford, Aaron Lawson and Kristen Lawson; sisters, Chris (Roger) Gathers, and Clarice (Vernon) Waymire; brother, John Key; and he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 56 years, Sharon Key; and sister, Dorothy Buchanan.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 7th, 2018 at 11AM at Faith Memorial Church with Pastor Mel Truex officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 10-11AM at the church.
