Kevin J. Murtha

Kevin John Murtha, age 62, of Tuckahoe, NJ passed away on Thursday January 10, 2019 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. Kevin was born August 20, 1956 in Elizabeth, NJ, and he was the Son of Maureen and Tom Murtha. Kevin was raised in Wanamassa, NJ, and later resided in Lakewood and Manchester, before moving to Tuckahoe, NJ one year ago. After a career in the truck driving industry, Kevin retired from his position with YRC Freight. He was a member of the Teamsters 641 and 701. Kevin had been a member of the NJ First Aid State Council,the Wanamassa Fire Department and the Wanamassa First Aid. Kevin was a woodworking enthusiast. Kevin is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Karlyn Acciavatti; a special brother, Mark Murtha and his wife Ann; 2 nieces, Mary Ann and Megan; two sisters and four brothers. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 7p.m. at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Prayers will be offered during the visitation at 4:00 p.m. along with a ceremony from the State Council Chaplain later in the evening at 6:30 p.m. Cremation will be private.
