Elizabeth “Betty” Pietrantonio, 87, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Elizabeth, NJ before settling in Lakewood for the past 24 years. She worked for the Singer Company in Elizabeth as an Administrative Assistant for many years before raising her beloved four children. Later she worked for the National State Bank in the Accounting Department. Betty loved crocheting blankets and clothes for her loving family and for the Helping Hands Organization in her free time. She was a dedicated communicant at St. Genevieve's Church in Elizabeth, NJ, where she was a member of the Rosary Society, and of The Church of the Visitation in Brick, NJ for many years. Betty was a member of the Italian American Club in the Original Leisure Village and was an avid reader, gardener and crossword puzzle enthusiast. She also loved to spend time with her beloved friends playing mah jongg. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all.
Betty is predeceased by the love of her life and husband of 61 years, Frank as well as by her sister, Emily Boyland.
She is survived by her children Frank Pietrantonio and his wife Diane Mooney, Victoria Baker, Thomas Pietrantonio and his wife Jacqueline and Christina Schwartz, grandchildren, Nicholas Pietrantonio and his wife Alexandra, Anna Pietrantonio, Olivia Pergamo and her husband Matthew, Sofie Pietrantonio, Robert Schwartz, Ian Baker, Michael Schwartz, Daniel Baker, Lucas Pietrantonio and Christopher Pietrantonio, and her dearest siblings, Joseph Weber and Gregory Weber and his wife Carole and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 5-9 PM at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 10 AM at the Church of the Visitation in Brick, NJ. Entombment will take place at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
