Cecilia Mary Rogers

Cecilia was born on April 25, 1921 in New York, NY, and she was the daughter of the late Michael and Bridget Rogers. Cecilia was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Rogers Sweeney of Bowling Green KY, and Frances Rogers Falvella of Lakewood NJ.

She is survived by 3 nephews and a niece, Joseph M. Falvella, Sr. “Jay” and his wife Cheryl with whom she resided in Fork Union, VA; JoAnn Mount of Toms River NJ ; Thomas Sweeney and his wife Ginger of North Carolina; and Michael Sweeney and his wife Betasha of Oregon; 10 great nieces and great nephews and numerous great great nieces and nephews.

Cecilia lived in Bronx,NY until moving to Fork Union VA. She loved the beach and spent her summers at her favorite place at the beach with friends. Cecilia worked for Northwest Airlines and she enjoyed many years of traveling around the world. Ceilia loved to read and loved teddy bears, especially Theodore.

She was blessed to have been able to spend her final years with family, especially some of her great great nieces and nephews Abigail and Joey Adams, James and Adison Falvella and Reilly McCullough (her favorite little redhead) who filled her time with love and laughter.

Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, March 11,2019 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m. in the funeral home, and a committal service will follow in the St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Dr., Lakewood, NJ 08701.
