Catherine Rose Green

Catherine Green passed away on January 1, 2024, at her home in Lakewood, NJ. Born in New York City on June 27, 1932; daughter of Sylvan and Agnes (Manger) Gonzalez. Predeceased by her husband Richard M. Green, Jr. and sisters Mary Dunleavy and Margaret McCarthy.

Catherine and Richard raised their four children in Bethpage and Plainview, Long Island. Mother of Mary (Ray) Laracuente of New York City, Patricia (Joseph) Negro of New Haven, CT, Thomas Green of Lakewood, NJ, and Julie (David) Allin of Lewes, DE. Grandmother of Genna and Ricky Laracuente; Carl (Moema Silva) Negro, Mary (Eric T. Miller) Negro; Christopher and Michael Negro; Emily (Clement Peuch) Green and Olivia (Ben) Hindelang; Zachary (Bianca Stone) Allin, Nicholas (Shanna Law) Allin, and Timothy (Libby DeShazo) Allin. Great-Grandmother of Josephine and Arthur Miller.

Cathy worked as a library clerk at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Town Library for many years. She enjoyed singing with the choir at her church in Plainview and with her community in Lakewood. She enjoyed vacationing with family and friends. Cathy maintained a beautiful home and was proud of the lovely gardens, trees, and shrubs she selected and planted around her home.

Funeral services are under the care of D’Elia Funeral Home of Lakewood, NJ. Visitation on Saturday, January 13th 12 noon - 2:00 pm followed by Mass, all at D’Elia.
