Barbara E. Cooke

Barbara E. Cooke, age 70, of Lakewood, passed away on March 11, 2011 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune Twp., NJ. Born in Jersey City, NJ, she relocated with her family to Brick, NJ at an early age, and Barbara was a longtime Brick resident before moving to Lakewood 20 years ago. Barbara was a graduate of Brick High School’s first graduating class, and she was active in the organization and planning of the class reunions. She was a former beautician in the Brick area and later retired in 2006 after over 10 years of service as a receptionist for the Cedar Bridge Medical Center. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Fred; her 3 daughters and their spouses, Denise & Phil Zumbano of Toms River, NJ, Debbie & Glenn Dyke of Brick, NJ and Donna and Marcel Mazzoni of Canonsburg, PA; 3 grandchildren, Lauren Dyke, Michael Mazzoni and Nino a Mazzoni; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for relatives and friends will be Monday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral services will be private followed by private interment in Ocean County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jersey Shore Animal Center, 185 Brick Blvd., Brick, NJ 08723.
