Anthony N. Belardo

Anthony N. Belardo, age 95, of the Original Leisure Village section of Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Anthony was born September 22, 1926 in Orange, NJ, as the son of the late Anna and Nicholas Belardo. Anthony was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific for 2 years. He was a letter carrier for the Orange, NJ branch of the US Post Office for 38 years. Anthony served the Special Police in Orange, NJ for 10 years. Upon relocating to South Jersey, he served as a crossing guard for 13 years at the Midstreams Elementary School in Brick, NJ. Anthony was a member of the VFW Post 8867 in Brick, NJ, a life member of the DAV Post 20 in Brick, NJ, and a life member of the Old Guard of Pt. Pleasant, NJ. He was also a devoted member of the Life Assembly of God Church in Pt. Pleasant, NJ. Anthony is survived by his beloved spouse of 71 years, Katherine A. Belardo; his six children, Joanna Morgera (Nick) of Brick, NJ, Nick Belardo (Kathy) of Moorehead City, NC; Linda Lamberti (Philip) of Marlboro, NJ Kathryn Devine (Thomas) of Denville, NJ; Anthony Belardo (Karen) of Branchburg, NJ; and Patrick Belardo (Sid) of Tinton Falls, NJ. Mr. Belardo also is survived by his 10 grandchildren, Theresa, Christina (Vince), Kathi (Jay), Philip (Deni), Anthony (Sara), Jennifer (Anthony), Amanda (Daniel), Thomas (Tiana), Jamie (Terry) and Jacob; and 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Anthony was the brother of the late Alba Aromando. Relatives and friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral service will immediately follow at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation will be private at a later date.
