Anthony was born August 1, 1930, and he was the son of the late Carmela and Pasquale. After being raised in Brooklyn, he later resided in Queens, Lindenhurst-LI, and Staten Island, before moving to Lakewood, NJ. Affectionately known as, "The Little Mayor of Staten Island," Anthony was an entrepreneur and land baron in New York and New Jersey. He orchestrated the renovation of many properties and businesses. Much of his accomplishments were completed at his own hand, and is fondly remembered for doing his work on his own terms. He served his country with the United States Army.
Formerly the husband of the late; Jean Deorato, and brother of the late, Loretta, John, and Larry; stepfather of the late, Steven Lustica; he is survived by his beloved wife, Trudy Deorato; a daughter, Jean Winter; a grandson, Jon Slaughter; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Anastasia and Gianna; and a great-great grandchild, Kaegan; five step-children, Klaus, Thomas, Lorraine and Debbie Lustica and Susan Black and Sharon Bacchi; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral service will at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in the Holmdel Cemetery.
