It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Scot "Scotty" Michael Harris, II, who left this world on September 12, 2024, at the age of 37. Born on July 11, 1987, in Denver, Colorado, Scotty was the second of three children born to Scot and Sherry Harris. His life was a tapestry woven with love, faith, and joy, and his impact on those around him will be cherished forever.
From a young age, Scotty's life was marked by a profound belief in God. At just ten years old, during a church service with his beloved grandma Carolyn, he experienced a moment that would shape his life forever. His excitement and trust in the Lord were evident as he eagerly shared his experience with his family. He had an encounter with the Holy Spirit.
Scotty graduated from Colorado State High School in 2005 and went on to build a life full of love and adventure. It was during his teenage years at a party that he met Maggie, the love of his life. Despite being known as "David's hot older brother," it was Scotty's genuine heart that won Maggie over. Their love story blossomed into a beautiful union, culminating in their marriage on August 9, 2014, in Westminster, Colorado.
Scotty and Maggie shared a deep bond rooted in their love for each other, their confidence in God, and their dedication to family. Together, they created a life filled with laughter, adventure, and a strong sense of togetherness. Scotty delighted in watching Maggie perform at karaoke bars and even set up a home karaoke system so they could sing and enjoy each other's company. Their adventures included a memorable hot air balloon ride in the mountains, a testament to their love for exploring life together.
A proud father, Scotty poured his heart into raising his sons, Eli and Abel. He cherished the moments spent playing basketball, hitting baseballs, and teaching them new skills, all while keeping a sense of humor and fun alive. He continued the family tradition of gathering around the dinner table, preparing meals with love and dedication. He prayed the same nightly prayer he was taught as a small child to his children to foster the importance of a relationship with God. He prayed out loud many times while his family was gathered.
Scotty was a hardworking individual with a passion for his business. As the owner and operator of a swimming pool and spa construction company, he carried on a fourth-generation legacy. His dedication to providing for his family was matched only by his commitment to instilling values of hope, perseverance, and reliance on God in his children and those around him.
Scotty's infectious personality, smile, laugh and his big dimples were his trademarks. His ability to make others laugh, combined with his strong sense of faith and love for God, left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His favorite scripture, Joshua 1:9, encapsulated his approach to life: courageous, confident, and full of faith.
He is preceded in death by his best friend, Nate Brown, who he explored many thrill seeking journey's with in life, who now greets him at heaven's gates. Scotty is survived by his devoted wife, Maggie; sons, Eli and Abel; parents, Scot and Sherry Harris; sister Terra and husband, Cory; brother David and wife, Whitney; nephews, Cameron, Devon, Dillon, and Daxton; nieces, Karianna and Kaia; grandmothers Shirley Hanavan and Carolyn Harris; and a host of extended family and friends.
