Nancy Davis, surrounded by her loving family, went to be with our Lord on May 1, 2024. With an unwavering love and devotion to her family, friends, animals of all kinds, Nancy was a compassionate and loving presence to all who knew her. She was deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure.
She was born on Christmas Day in 1933 to R. Bryan and Jeanne Service in Denver, CO, Nancy is survived by her sons Jeff (Jennifer) and Greg (Polly), grandchildren Justine, Jennifer, and Jarrod, as well as family members and numerous cherished friends.
She will be remembered for her boundless kindness, heartfelt tales of caring for nursery animals at the Denver Zoo, her steadfast involvement with her cherished church, and the countless adventures around the world that she shared with her beloved husband Bill. Above all, Nancy will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her grandchildren. She and Bill attended nearly every event they participated in, beaming with pride at their accomplishments and treasured every moment and conversation shared with them.
Nancy lived a remarkable life, filled with experiences that would fill several volumes. Her circle of friends spanned far and wide, a testament to her warm and welcoming nature. She always remarked how fortunate she was to have so many friends – and if you met her, you know why. When she moved into their retirement home, Lakeview Estates, after 45 years of living in Green Mountain, she made an immediate impact on that community. Even in her final moments, the staff expressed their gratitude for her caring and kindness.
Entering the world on Christmas Day and departing on May Day, two of her favorite holidays, Nancy will always be remembered as a beacon of love and light. Her legacy as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend will forever live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Thank you for all the love, laughter and light, Nancy. We are all better people because we were loved by you.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11AM, followed by a reception, both at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Denver. Nancy will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver to follow.
Nancy requested donations be made in her name to the Denver Zoo.
