Leslie Earl Ody was born in Ashland, Oregon on May 19, 1952 to Palmyra and Walter Ody. He moved with his family to Washington State and upon graduating high school decided that he wanted to join the military. He entered the service on September 20, 1971 and served until 1973. He enjoyed the Army so much that after being away for 6 years, he entered again in 1979 retiring on September 30, 1996.
On a dare, Linda, decided to try video dating and Leslie was the lucky bachelor who came across her profile. They fell in love and married on October 19, 1991. They stayed mostly in the Washington area, but moved to Ecuador together, finally settling in Denver, Colorado.
When Leslie wasn't working or spending time with his family, he was fishing. He loved to fish and would certainly try to anywhere he could drop a line. Leslie was 72 when he passed away at his home in Denver on Thursday, October 10, 2024. His wit, determination, and love will be deeply missed, most especially by his wife of 35 years, Linda; children, Chalais, Adrea, Erikka and Michelle; 10 grandchildren and 2 siblings.
Leslie will be laid to rest on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 10AM at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
