Born in Sweetwater, Colorado on September 5, 1923, daughter of the late Fredrick Charles Stout and Edna Mary (Winningham) Stout. Georgia passed away peacefully at her son’s home where she had been living, in Thornton, Colorado, on Sunday, November 14, 2021. She was 98 years old.
Georgia is survived by her son Robert (Bob) Bowen and his fiancé Joanne (Jody) Marshall of Thornton, her sister Mary Edna Stout Bennett of Nucla, Colorado. Georgia is also survived by grandsons, TJ Bowen (Josh Korpela) of, Steve Cox (Kristina) and David Camenetti. 7 great grandchildren Steve,Ty and Mary Cox, Corissa and Shelby Camenetti, Scott Bright and David Tannenbaum Also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Georgia was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert C. (Bob) Bowen, her daughter Shirley Jean (Skeeter) Bright, a granddaughter Michelle (Shelly) Tannenbaum, brothers Ira, Roy, Rex, Leo, Marlon, Richard and Dale and sisters Myrtle, Hazel, and Claressa.
Georgia married her husband Bob on September 2, 1943. Georgia worked as a secretary for Montgomery Wards for 25 years. Georgia loved to travel and made numerous trips to Europe and Asia as well as many cities throughout the United States. She enjoyed camping, making arts and crafts for craft shows.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Advantage Runyon-Stevenson Funeral Home at 6425 W Alameda Avenue in Lakewood, CO 80026. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and the service is at 10:00 a.m. Following the service, a burial ceremony will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 4400 W Kenyon Avenue, Denver, CO 80236. After the burial ceremony there will be a reception at the funeral home, starting at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
