Larry Wayne Menard was born to proud parents, Esther Mary and Lovine Paul Menard, on October 2nd, 1954, in Houston, TX, where he spent most of his life. Upon graduating from Friendswood High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education at Lamar University. He was the youngest of 3 boys, and he loved his older brothers dearly.
Larry was an exceptional athlete from early on. He was a star Little League baseball player, a high school track & field state champion, and a collegiate four-year starting defensive tackle. Later in life… Larry found golf! He loved everything that the game of golf had to offer… nature, competition, friendship and good times; he certainly had an undeniable passion for the game.
He had a successful business management career with Pillsbury, Fuddruckers and Sysco Foods. When he retired in 2015, he went on board with Home Depot in Bee Cave and was embraced with open arms by all of the employees.
He was a kind, caring, gentle soul, and he had an absolute heart of gold. Larry brought the best out of everyone. He endured more than most, but had a "Never, Never, Never Give Up" kind of attitude. Larry loved His Lord with all his heart and soul.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Esther Mary and Lovine Paul Menard. He is survived by his brother Bill Menard and wife Sandra, his brother Ronnie Menard; his uncle Fritz Oberhoff and aunt Evelyn Rhyner; his nieces Carmye Castellow and husband David, Kylie and Mackenzie Smith, as well as his great-nieces, Cara and Courtney Castellow; cousin Charlene Kulhanek and husband Sunny.
