He was born March 4, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Lucille & Elmer Cole, and became a big brother when the family welcomed Arlen “Jack” Cole in 1954. He graduated from MacArthur High School and attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
As the years unfolded, Buster made his way to Austin, Texas and eventually found his forever home in Spicewood along the Pedernales River. Buster was a man of many talents & hobbies, and was truly the life of the party. He was an accomplished musician that played the piano, organ, and accordion. His favorite music to play, and listen to, included Willie Nelson, ABBA, and Jimmy Buffett.
Following his Walk to Emmaus with Bee Creek UMC, Buster dedicated his time to supporting his community and volunteering at the weekly food bank organized by Helping Hands Crisis Ministry of Spicewood. He was known for his generous spirit and always extended a helping hand to those in need, be it rescuing dogs or donating toys and visiting orphanages across the Dominican Republic.
Buster’s favorite things in life included being with family, eating good food, and spending time out on the water. Whether it was boating down the “dirty Perdy”, or sailing throughout the Caribbean with wife, Alida Ruicci Tucker. He was a kind soul with a smile that brightened every room he entered, and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Alida; daughters, Hannah Tucker & Ceci Tucker; son-in-law, Maxwell Johnston; and dog, Bruno. He is remembered by all his cousins whom he loved deeply and considered to be siblings.
Buster’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1pm, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Austin Pets Alive, or Helping Hands Crisis Ministry, in Buster’s honor.
