His graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Broadwater with Pastor Jonathan Seng officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Nebraska Army National Guard.
Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bridgeport Memorial Chapel.
Memorials may be given to the Morrill County Home Health or to the Broadwater Volunteer Rescue Unit.
He was born on August 26, 1916 in Murdo, South Dakota to Fred and Mary (Quarrieing) Burry. He entered the U.S. Army in 1941 serving during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945. Clarence returned to Nebraska and worked many years on ranches in the sand hills. He married Ethel Stuart on July 10, 1953 and became the father to her two daughters, Beth and Sharon and two additional daughters were born, Bonnie and Barbara to complete their family. Clarence farmed and ranched all of his life. He was an avid football and Husker fan. He was Grand Marshall at the 2009 Broadwater Days parade.
Survivors include his two sisters, four daughters and sons-in-law, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, father, two brothers and two sisters.
