Betty Sottek Trott, of Wichita Falls, passed away on August 29, 2021 in Austin, TX. Betty was born on May 5, 1938 to the late Henry and Melada Sottek. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School and received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Midwestern State University.
She was an avid Bridge player, president of Phi Alpha Omega Sorority, a member of the Wichita Falls Insurance Women’s Club and the local SPJST chapter. Betty was a Real Estate agent in the Wichita Falls area for many years, working for Century 21, Key Realty, and Hirschi Realtors during her career.
Betty was preceded in death by her son, Clayton; her sisters Sophie Huff and Mary Ann Cook; and brother Charlie Sottek.
Survivors include her daughter, Valerie Attwood of Austin; her grandson Eric Attwood of Austin; niece Marilyn Parker and her husband Mike of Horseshoe Bay; niece Diane Hornbeck and her husband Jim of Wichita Falls; nephew Bill Cook of Wichita Falls; nephew Lynn Huff of Garner, NC.
Betty was a hard headed Czech who was late to everything, never threw anything away, had a sense of style, loved to entertain and was the only mom in Tanglewood who mowed the lawn in her bikini.
